ZESCO managing director Victor Mundende has elevated and demoted various senior and middle managers at the state-run power utility.
According to a memorandum dated December 19, Mundende stated that 38 staff movements and appointments were made in an effort to enhance operational efficiency and service delivery.
But a source within Zesco told The Mast that most of those perceived to be UPND sympathisers had either been demoted or transferred.
The source explained that another list of perceived UPND sympathisers would be released next week.
“More changes are coming, I think by next week. They (PF) want to position themselves by bringing in their own people while sieving the perceived UPND supporters based on their tribe,” said the source.
Mundende has moved Northern Division manager Clement Silavwe to Lusaka in the same capacity while Batoka Projects director Wesley Lwindi has been appointed projects director at the Kafue (KGL) Gorge Lower.
Other appointments are in the engineering department where KGL chief civil engineer David Zimba has been appointed projects director at Batoka Power Station.
Simon Muwowo, the chief telecoms engineer is now the new Fibercom senior manager while Northern Division Technical Services manager Yona Sichalwe is now the division manager, among others.
At the beginning of December, Mundende fired five top directors at the power utility.
Human Resources Laston Mumba was replaced him with Rhoda Mwale in an acting capacity.
Mbile Vukovic, who was Director Legal Services and Company Secretary, was also fired and replaced with McRobby Chiwale.
Rodgers Chisambi was also fired from his position as Director of Finance and replaced with Saidi Chimya.
Mundende also fired Bestty Phiri, the Director of Strategy and Corporate Services, and replaced him with Changala Nswana.
Muntungwa Mugala was also fired from his post as director in charge of Distribution and Customer Services and replaced him with Dennis Banda.
