Former Electoral Commission of Zambia Public Relations Officer Chris Akufuna has opened up and disclosed that indeed the just ended 2016 General Election results were manipulated.

Mr. Akufuna has disclosed that the Presidential results for Chawama, Mandevu, Chitulika,Kanyama, Munali, matero and some parts of the copperbelt were changed.

He says the results recieved by the ECZ server indicate that the results that were being announced by Judge Chulu were changed to favour the PF and Edgar Lungu.

Mr. Akufuna says the irregularities were seen by ECZ officials and had a meeting with Essau Chulu before announcing results and threatened that he was going to fire anyone who was going to point out the irregularities.

“I was just a Public Relations officer, hired to defend the institution not to rig elections. I have no influence whatsoever, I don’t make decisions, they make decisions and we just follow. One thing for sure is that the results were manipulated. Fore-instance in Chawama, Mandevu, Chitulika,Kanyama, Munali, matero and some parts of the copperbelt results were changed. ” he said.

Akufuna tendered his resignation on Tuesday Last week charging that he wanted to further his studies.

But the chief rigger and PF cadre Essau Chulu downplayed Akufuna’s resignations charging that his contract expired.
