The PF through its over the top media director Sunday Chanda issued a strongly worded racist rant where they described Mr Maimane as a “black token”.
The statement was in response to a request by the DA leader to visit the incarcerated UPND President Hakainde Hichilema in prison.
However Mr Mwamba condemned the statement which he described as having come from the “dark corridors of apartheid”.
“The PF under its media director Sunday Chanda have issued a strongly worded statement that lacks etiquette and diplomacy disparaging DA President Mmusi Maimane calling him a black token, which we feel is a highly charged racist term that can only be found in the dark corridors of an apartheid library”.
“The language of the PF is very disturbing and seems to override a civilised press release from the Zambian High Commission in Pretoria which had responded to Mr Maimane’s with civility and courtesy”, Mr Mwamba stated.
The UPND Vice President wondered who was in charge of the PF Government as it seemed everyone was at liberty in issuing out statements some with international ramifications.
Mr Mwamba counselled, “it’s important for the PF to realise that South Africa is a land governed by laws and norms and any attempt to intimidate any of their nationals on foreign visits, whether those are DA, EFF, ANC, black, white or Indian will usually be met with displeasure by the South African Government”.
Mr Mwamba advised the PF to tone down their rants and to restrict their international adventures of quarreling with foreign organisations like the European Union, for they may one day need them.
