FIFA and CAF to investigate message displayed by PF thugs in Nigerian Stadium.

The Federation of International Football Associations (FIFA) and the Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) have launched investigations into the political campaign messages displayed by PF thugs inside the Nigerian stadium yesterday during the World Cup match between Nigeria and Zambia.

The political banners were displayed campaigning for dictator Edgar Lungu right inside the stadium in which Zambia lost the game.

FIFA rules do not allow political and religious involvement in the games at any level.

Zambia can be fined and disqualified for a long period of time if found guilty of such irresponsible actions in the games.

Highly placed sources say FIFA and CAF officials were taken by surprise seeing the banners displayed inside the Nigerian stadium praising dictator Edgar Lungu as opposed to supporting the team.

However, keeping in mind that the rules need to be applied in a neutral and fair manner across FIFA’s 211 member associations, the display, among others, of any political or religious symbol is strictly prohibited. In the stadium and on the pitch, there is only room for sport, nothing else,” said the chairman of the FIFA Disciplinary Committee, Claudio Sulser.

They have since gotten video and pictorial evidence and will analyse the banners with a view to come up with appropriate actions against the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ).

But then FAZ were also not aware of the PF thuggery behaviour in the foreign country.
